| Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity. | I was able to learn in a creative manner by participating in several class projects. We used technology to create our own word cloud, Nearpod lesson, and audio commercial during our technology class. |
| Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments. | For our technology course, we had the opportunity to create different ways for students to engage in a lesson digitally. During the Nearpod lesson, we learned that students can take part in assessments that can accessed at a later time. We also created a media resources list that we can use throughout different lessons. One example I discovered was an application that can help students solve acceleration and velocity problems. |
| Model digital age work and learning. | During our technology course, we were provided the opportunity to create a commercial using Audacity, an audio mixer. Using this technology, we were able to mix a recording and music (if needed) to create an introductory commercial to a lesson. |
| Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility. | During our technology course, we learned about digital citizenship and responsibility by exploring the different struggles people can have online. This includes inappropriate use of people’s pictures, sexting, and addiction to social media. We also learned about how privacy settings can protect ourselves and students from harmful content. Copyright law was also discussed and we learned how to properly cite for Creative Common licensed media. |
| Engage in professional growth and leadership | Throughout my tenure at graduate schools (3 of them), I’ve engaged in professional growth and leadership by continually submitting papers, projects, and assignments into ELearn on time. I also showed leadership throughout my 3 years of substitute teaching by implementing the lesson plans left by the regular teacher. I’ve also had to develop lesson plans and strategies during long-term assignments to continue student learning. |
